🚀 What is Spintax?
Spintax allows you to create dynamic message content by randomly selecting from multiple variations of text. It’s ideal for avoiding repetitive messages when sending DMs or emails in bulk.
You define options within curly braces {}
and separate them with the vertical bar |
.
Example:
Hi {there|friend|%Firstname%}, welcome to our service!
The platform will randomly send one of the following:
- “Hi there, welcome to our service!”
- “Hi friend, welcome to our service!”
- “Hi %Firstname%, welcome to our service!”
Where Can You Use Spintax?
You can use Spin Tax in the following task types:
- ✅ Send Welcome DM
- ✅ Send Email
- ✅ Message Group Members
⚠️ Note: Some tasks, such as Invite to Connect, may not support or recommend spintax usage. If you have LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator, the invite note should not surpass 275 characters including %tokens%. If you’re on free LinkedIn, the invite notes should not surpass 275 characters including %tokens%, or send them without note.
✍️ How to Write Spintax
- Choose Your Message Base:
Start with a standard message you’d like to personalize. - Insert Variation Options:
Use{option1|option2|option3}
to create variations. - Test Your Message:
Ensure there are no typos or misplaced braces{}
or bars|
.
Example Template:
If adding variation terms to a single message:Hey {there|team|everyone}, just wanted to {check in|follow up|touch base} on your {recent activity|latest task|last step}.
If adding a full A/B message:
{Message A as long as you need it to be, make sure to add your signoff and everything before the vertical bar.
Best,
Your Name | Message B as long as you need it to be, make sure to add your signoff and everything before the vertical bar.
Best,
Your Name}
⚙️ Tips for Best Results
- Use short but impactful variations.
- Avoid over-complicating spin tax with too many nested options.
- Keep the structure consistent for readability.
🧪 Want to See It in Action?
Create a Send DM task, enter your spintax message in the task editor, and observe the variation in real message outputs. Your message preview won’t show all variations—it randomly selects one version per send.
